I took this dessert to another level by cutting a large piece of the butter cake into chunks, placing them into a dessert cup, and pouring the cremas over them. And since strawberries are a common ingredient when making dessert, why not use them as a topping? The dessert was a hit the first time I made it.

My likes and dislikes

Fruits: I tried different types of fresh fruit toppings, and my preferences are strawberry, pear, pineapple, cherries, pomegranate, kiwi, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. I liked them all.

Other types of toppings: Whipped cream was not my favorite. Ice cream, yes! Applesauce, no, but apple chunks, yes. A fruit sauce is not my favorite; too sweet and not appetizing. Chocolate pieces/shavings, oh yeah! Chocolate sauce, still getting used to it as it is also very sweet.

The Cake: I poured enough cremas in each cup just for each chunk of cake to get the coconut and alcohol flavor. Filling the cup with cremas to the top may not be a good idea, as you may want the pieces to retain their shapes. If you add too much cremas, the texture will be pasty and doughy.

Other types of cake: it is best to make this dessert with a plain cake, like yellow cake, vanilla cake, or chocolate cake, another decadent dessert. A cake with tons of flavor might still be good, depending on your preference. Don’t forget that any filling and icing will add a lot of sugar content. The simpler the dessert, the tastiest it will be.

Weird toppings: peanut butter, my sister Erika tried it and did not find the taste bad. Sandra tried hazelnut spread; it was too sweet for her. The whipped cream was a NO for all of us, even with other members of the family and friends. Bacon bits were just too weird for me, but other people liked the saltiness and sweet taste.
