This is a great recipe for garlic lovers, and it’s perfect if you love garlic bread but don’t have the time or energy to make it from scratch. It’s easy to make and has only five ingredients—tomato juice, garlic cloves, sun-dried tomatoes, bread flour, and dried basil.

Having a bread machine is worth it!
If you don’t own a bread machine by now, I suggest you seriously consider it. I don’t regret this investment at all. It is an investment because I am not adding any preservatives, the bread is fresh, and I can make bread anytime. And let’s not forget that you can save money.
Eating a healthy diet is challenging because of the cost of groceries. Having a bread machine can ease your wallet. You may think that flour is too expensive to buy in bulk. Guess again! Think about the number of loaves of bread you can make. Think about your stomach.
The recipe is from my Bread Machine Baking Recipes book, written by Donna Washburn and Heather Butt. Not for advertising purposes, but it feels great when you buy a recipe book, and many recipes are on point. I purchased this book a long ago, and I am finally enjoying the money well spent.

The ingredients for the California Garlic with Sun-Dried Tomatoes Bread Machine Recipe
The California Garlic with Sun-Dried Tomatoes Bread recipe is made with roasted garlic instead of fresh garlic. One variation tip mentioned in the book is to use fresh garlic for a stronger flavor. I have not tried it with fresh garlic because I don’t enjoy that strong flavor. And who wants to have garlic breath after eating a slice?
- Tomato-vegetable juice: this is your good old V-8 juice. Buy V-8 low-sodium juice instead of the regular V-8.
- Sun-Dried Tomatoes: buy the ones in olive oil. They are so much better, softer, and very moist.
- Roasted garlic: you can use fresh garlic if you prefer. The smoked garlic flavor and taste go well with the sun-dried tomatoes.
- Salt: for flavor and seasoning.
- Granulated Sugar or organic sugar: a little sweetness to counteract sun-dried tomatoes’ acidity.
- Olive Oil: for flavor
- All-purpose flour or bread flour: the main ingredient; by a good brand.
- Dried Basil: for flavor
- Bread machine yeast: to help the bread rise while baking.
How to make the bread machine recipe
