Pan Seared Tuna Steak Salad with Noubess Hot and Spicy Pineapple and Herbs Sauce
Cooking Fresh Tuna Steak is very easy. As a versatile type of seafood, a good tuna steak seasoning is essential for a delicious dish. The seasoning must be composed of fresh herbs, spices, and an acidic agent.
For this recipe, I chose to use fresh Yellowfin Tuna. You can certainly make the same recipe with salmon, or swordfish. It is better to use a firm fish for this recipe as well. Firm flesh fish hold their shape much better.
Yellowfin Tuna Steak can be found in your local supermarket in the seafood section. You can also visit your local fishmonger.
Seasoning your fish
To season the tuna, I chose Noubess Hot and Spicy Pineapple and Herbs Sauce. I decided that particular flavor because tuna is a type of fish that requires bold flavors. Just salt and pepper won’t cut it! Not even with a few drops of lemon or lime juice.
The steaks are pan-seared to perfection in olive oil and Noubess Hot and Spicy Pineapple and Herbs Sauce. About 3 – 5 minutes per side should be fine. You will notice in the recipe that I did not add any salt or pepper. I also did not use lime or lemon.
Noubess hot sauce does contain about 25 mg of sodium per serving size which is equal to 1 teaspoon. There are about 58 servings in the Hot and Spicy Pineapple and Herbs Blend jar. The acidic level of the hot sauce is sufficient to season the steaks properly. Can you imagine how many delicious meals you can create?
Serving the tuna steaks
Tuna Steaks are usually served with salad. Many people prefer a simple salad, lettuce leaves, cucumber, tomato, onion or scallions.
These days, avocados are very popular. I chose to serve the tuna steaks with a few chunks of avocado for a smooth texture. I also added dried figs for a little bit of sweetness.
You can serve the salad with a homemade vinaigrette. But I would suggest to try it first without, as all the flavors make a delicious and aromatic marriage together.
Making the tuna steaks
Buying tuna is relatively easy. You will usually find precut steaks sold fresh or vacuumed packed in the freezer section. Whichever you choose, your meal will still be delicious. But again, there’s no comparison with fresh seafood.
This recipe is relatively simple. It is effortless and does not require a lot of work. You can add more ingredients or change the recipe to your liking. I would recommend using my Hot and Spicy Pineapple and Herbs Blend if you want to obtain the same flavors as the original recipe. All hot and spicy condiments are not the same.
Enjoy this wonderful, easy and delicious meal you can prepare in minutes.
