The Ingredients:

  • Medium or Jumbo size shrimp shelled and deveined
  • Kosher or Sea salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic cloves
  • Garlic powder
  • Ground cumin
  • Onion powder
  • Smoked Paprika
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Fresh Lemon juice
  • Red Bell Pepper
  • Fresh Parsley
  • Fresh Bread, French Baguette, or Ciabatta
  • Lemon wedges

To make the dish

  • First, shell, devein and rinse the shrimp. Thoroughly pat them dry with a paper towel and place them in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and season with salt and pepper, garlic powder,  onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper if using. Set aside. 
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute). Do not let the garlic brown.
  • Pan-fry the shrimp to your taste. Cook for 2 minutes on one side while stirring occasionally. Flip and cook for 2 minutes on the other side until they turn pink.
  • Add in the remaining oil and lemon juice. Cook while stirring until the shrimp have cooked through (do not overcook them). Remove from the heat and stir in chopped parsley and finely chopped red bell pepper. Season to taste with salt and pepper, and add more lemon juice if needed.
  • Garnish with additional fresh chopped parsley and lemon wedges. 
  • Serve with bread slices over rice or pasta.
