Roasted Cauliflower made easy
Roasted Cauliflower is one of my favorite ways to cook this lovely vegetable. This method, although easy, is the best way for me to enjoy Cauliflower. The fantastic thing is that I don’t even need to add fancy oil. 🙂
Fancy oils are usually more expensive than regular or common oils. These oils are processed differently and may be infused with herbs, spices, fruits, etc. You may have noticed several roasted cauliflower recipes with truffle oil. Many of these recipes have minimal variation and are pretty good.
Spending $30 on a small bottle of truffle oil only for Cauliflower is not ideal for cooking. It would be best to make sure that you can make more than one recipe with truffle oil. But there’s always coconut oil, a much cheaper substitution for this recipe.
Have you ever tried creating a vinaigrette with fruity vinegar? This recipe will make you want to be very creative with your salads and veggies.
Cauliflower is a versatile vegetable that you can use any oil you want. It all depends on taste and flavor. For example, I will not add sesame oil to any cauliflower dish because of its strong nutty flavor. Cauliflower likes a more subtle flavor, like coconut or regular olive oil.
Why not use coconut oil for this recipe?
Coconut oil has a soft coconut aroma and a pronounced coconut flavor. When cooking, coconut oil should be used in moderation because it contains more calories than olive oil.
I have used different oils and created my version of herbal-infused oils. Several of my creations have failed, and I am unsure why. Maybe the herbs or the spices must be processed a certain. I will have to research that a bit more.
How to prep for roasted cauliflower recipe
Prepping for this dish is simple. The first step is to look for firm cauliflower with compact and crisp florets. The leaves must look green, fresh, and with no wilting signs. It is best to avoid Cauliflower with small brown specks on the florets as aging is a sign. Lastly, always keep your Cauliflower tightly wrapped in the refrigerator until usage – typically three to five days.
The second step is to cut your Cauliflower the way you want. Give the florets a quick rinse under running water and dry well. Add all ingredients to a bowl, mix well, and spread evenly on a baking sheet. It is that easy!
You can prepare this recipe while your meat is cooking in the oven or on the stovetop. Roasted Cauliflower is an easy, simple, quick-to-prepare, and delicious dish for your family.
Enjoy!
