The benefits of eating a hearty breakfast in the morning
A hearty breakfast is easy to prepare if you have three main ingredients. A hearty breakfast is made with staple foods. The main ingredients and staple foods such as milk, cheese, and potatoes are found in almost every kitchen. Whether you live in a city, on a farm or in the suburbs, they are standard food items on every food shopping list.
We love to eat! It is not a fib. Although eating three or four meals a day is the routine in many cultures, breakfast, however, can be a different story. Breakfast for many is defined as a light meal. A light meal at breakfast time can be a cup of coffee or tea, and even a smoothie or a shake. The latter two are somewhat acceptable, and the first is not acceptable.
Why breakfast is so important
Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day; so why many of us are not nourishing our body correctly? When you wake up, you’ve been without food for about 6 to 8 hours. Eating breakfast will help you replenish your body and maintain your energy.
Breakfast is important for everyone and especially for children and adolescents. According to the American Dietetic Association, children who eat breakfast perform better in the classroom and on the playground, with better concentration, problem-solving skills, and eye-hand coordination.
If you want to keep your energy, a balanced and healthy diet should include fruits, vegetables, grains and roots like potatoes, yucca, and yams. The proper diet will help your body stay strong and healthy.
Potato, the world’s fourth-largest food crop, is often considered as comfort food. Who does not like comfort food for breakfast? Potatoes can be roasted, fried, baked, and even mashed and served for breakfast.
Creating easy and easy recipe
I love adding milk, cheese, vegetables and tons of fresh herbs and spices. One easy recipe you can make is by adding an equal portion of:
- mushroom
- onions
- sweet peppers, and
- cooked meat if preferred (beef, chicken or turkey)
- and lots of cheese

You can also substitute the vegetables if you wish. The key is to add the right amount of herbs and spices. Usually, I will add one tablespoon of parsley, fresh minced or powdered garlic. I will also add a no-salt spice blend for added flavor.
The binding ingredient
I cannot forget the egg! You may think that I am making quiche and on the contrary, it is not. I add all my ingredients in a large bowl, add enough milk or heavy cream and 1 or 2 eggs to bind all the ingredients during cooking.
The egg proteins act as a binder by holding the vegetables, cheese, milk, and meat together. Beating the egg before adding it to the ingredients will facilitate cooking.
Other options
Potato is not your only option to a hearty and healthy breakfast. Porridge, oatmeal, pancakes, and crepes are also great breakfast meals.

My wife and I have never been morning people and we have both noticed how fatigued we are right before lunch. If I don’t have time to eat breakfast early in the day, I try to make sure that I drink enough fluids so my muscles can stay moist and with a little bit of fuel from whatever I am drinking. That usually keeps me going til lunchtime but I don’t do it everyday.
